The Daily LEAD: A New Podcast for Leaders

Let’s face it, many of us don’t have time to sit down and read a leadership newsletter. Our busy schedules might not even allow us to read as much as we want to read. And can we talk about conferences? They are wonderful, I love them, I get energy off them, but they take intentional time, intentional resources (money), and for many congregations that isn’t possible. But as leaders, we need to grow. Leaders who grow, lead organizations that grow. Leaders that take time to improve their leadership skills, lead organizations that improve as well. Everything rises and falls on good leadership. But where to find time?

In today’s rapidly evolving world, effective leadership is a vital component of success in various aspects of life. To become a great leader, one must constantly seek knowledge and inspiration. In this digital age, podcasts have emerged as a valuable resource, offering a convenient way to access insightful content. With the help of GSB, we are excited to launch The Daily LEAD, a short leadership podcast for leaders not only in faith communities, but leaders everywhere. Leaders are often pressed for time, juggling multiple responsibilities and tasks. By creating a short 7–8-minute podcast, leaders can take time to listen and grow while getting ready in the morning, on their way to work, during lunch break, sitting on 290, or basically, just about anywhere.

I do want to include a side note – this podcast is about more than just becoming a better leader, at its very heart the podcast is about taking care of our mental health. Mental health is an important aspect of becoming a better leader. If we don’t take care of ourselves, how can we respond to the needs of those we lead? We not only need to grow in our knowledge but also take time for our mental health, which is why at the end of every episode there is an intentional time of meditation and reflection on the topic for the day.

We are so excited to be launching this new podcast beginning October 16, 2023, and we hope you will subscribe, listen in each Monday through Friday, and share it with others so that this podcast becomes a valuable asset to anyone seeking to become a better leader. Together, let’s make growing as leaders a priority!

*You can find The Daily LEAD in the Apple Podcast store and Spotify Podcasts.

I’m not good at paying attention to content while doing other things, like getting dressed or driving. Could you make written transcripts available for those of us who prefer to read?

    Thank you!

Barbara, thank you so much for communicating and for your thoughtful feedback. We really appreciate your suggestion. Currently we are not set up to provide a script, but will definitely research possibilities.
