Take a break

We are tired in a way that sleeping in will not cure. Our levels of fear and anxiety have been inching up incrementally. The amount of rebuilding, new learning, and new tools we have added to our resumes are wearing us down.

Please, for the sake of God’s mission in the world, give yourself permission to take a break.

Whatever that means for you and those who count on you. Just find a way.

We need our souls to be refilled in order to live out of the belief that God is with us through this epic change. God is working in each of us, giving to us. We have the power of the Holy Spirit that can help us cultivate the optimism and innovation that we need to lead others. It starts by leading ourselves.

What gives you life?

Start there.

On our team we have people who are creatives – they need to innovate or die.

We have people who are caring empathizers – they need to show up to help someone, even if only through a few thoughtful texts.

We have people who are grounded deeply in scripture – they need to dig in and have others to journey with in faithful discernment.

We have get-it-done people – they need to check things off their list that drive results.

Who are you and what do you need?

Please, take a break.

The Lord will guide you continually, and satisfy your needs in parched places, and make your bones strong; and you shall be like a watered garden, like a spring of water, whose waters never fail. Your ancient ruins shall be rebuilt; you shall raise up the fountains of many generations; you shall be called the repairer of the breach, the restorer of streets to live in. Isaiah 58:11-12

it is 3 days past July 1st — obviously I’m a little behind but still in need of a break and this was a good quick but informative piece.
