Listen to your children praying. Send your Spirit in these places. You have been here before, O God. We call out to you now on behalf of a hurting world.

The catastrophic and tragic flooding with too many young lives lost in Texas.
The abused, terrified and neglected in homes everywhere in this country and the world.
The hungry, cold and scared, who are uncertain who to trust.
The unaccompanied minors, escaping from one country, to walk through Central America alone. Rejected at the border.
The brutality of war, with death and fear all around, in Ukraine, Gaza, Iran, now alone as refugees.

Lord, have mercy on your children. All of them.
Lord, have mercy on the adults who try to protect them. And on those that can’t.
Lord, have mercy on those that survive, to live with trauma. And on those that don’t.
Lord, have mercy on your children. All of them.
Amen.
