DECONSTRUCT: An Advent Devotional

Layers of a rock’s surface – the colors, the textures, and the life forms preserved in them – tell the story of a place. Peel back the layers and you will learn about seasons and challenges, about joys and sorrows – all that goes into creating the beauty of the earth and telling its story.

Archeologists dig and deconstruct the layers of the earth to learn more about how our ancestors lived. This Advent let the voices of the prophets and the voices of four modern church leaders invite you to do some deconstructing of your own.

What are the layers of life that have made you who you are?
What do you need to claim again about the beautiful creation you are?
What do you need to let go of?

This year, LEAD introduces “DECONSTRUCT: An Advent Devotional.” The devotional will feature the voices of four important leaders of our time who will reflect on the theme of “Deconstruct” using one of the lectionary texts from each of the four Sundays in Advent.

Each week will feature:

  • a short video reflection
  • a rite of confession and forgiveness
  • an action step

This resource will be made available to you for $40/person and to congregations for $100.  Please register here if you are interested and we will let you know when the resources are available for purchase. (We anticipate early November)
